Kate Welch, Pharm.D is a community retail and compounding pharmacist from Portland, OR. She teaches pharmacology at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, and Herb-Drug-Nutrient Interactions for the College of Graduate Studies: Department of Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine at the University of Western States.
An herbalist as well as a pharmacist, Kate has obtained additional training in the areas of western traditional herbalism and botanical medicine science, essential oil chemistry, and FDA GMP regulations.
She is a professional member of the American Botanical Council. Kate has been a medical cannabis educator since 2012; in 2016, she gave a presentation on Cannabis Pharmacology at the very first Cannabis Science Conference in Portland.
Her goals include promoting patient safety with cannabis dosage forms and helping make cannabis science and research understandable for the layperson.
